It is hard to believe that we are half-way through 2021! It has been quite a moment in time. Along with the Covid-19 pandemic and its restrictions, the world as we knew it changed - right before our eyes. From mask mandates and restrictions on workplaces and social gatherings to the untimely loss of loved ones, everyone has been impacted by the changes and pain of a global pandemic in some manner.

This year, my first year of ‘retirement’, has seemed to go even faster than the whirlwind years of meetings, reporting, traveling… and many more meetings. Not the crisp in the air so much, but the crisp taste of fresh apple cider and the crisp sound of fallen leaves. Growing up in the Midwest, with its very distinct seasons, you find what you love best about each one so as they approach you are less sad to see the last fade away. When I was a young child, there was no better time to drink crisp cider and admire the fallen leaves than Halloween night.
